That is so because it is getting better and modernized in all sectors, the most remarkable one being the water sector in which there has been increased accessibility and sustainability of clean water for all citizens. In reality, the country is located in a desert and experiences a very low rainfall annually that is not enough to sustain its increasing population. For that matter, the nation through its leadership has come up with strategic plans to ensure water is no longer a challenge like the past few centuries. For instance, the sultanate through technology has been able to make water available to all citizens in spite of the little rainfall. Sea water is being desalinized in the current times and channeled through pipes to homesteads for domestic use, industrial use and farm ing. In extension, the water projects contribute remarkably towards the economy of the country since, without it, some of the key sectors in the country may not run to their maximum potentials. Besides, other water sources such as ground and surface water have been utilized well with the existence of proper technologies. On the other hand, the government has set up a national monitoring network in charge of monitoring the changes in climate and rainfall patterns. Furthermore, it has more than 4600 stations nationally which also monitor the groundwater levels and quality. It also has the mandate of reporting the findings and recommendations of suitable strategies to ensure sustainability of water resources.Additionally, the authorities have established storage dams in different areas including Jabal Akhdar and Wadi Dayqah to solve the water crisis in the Quriyat, Muscat, and surrounding locality. There are also recharge dams used for collection of Wadi floods and other places before the water undergoes desiltation and treatment ready for domestic and industrial purposes (Saif and Shaqsi).Therefore, the country is moving forward and achieving more not only in the water and sanitation sector but also in other areas. Public awareness has increased on the importance of water conservation over the recent years, which is an achievement for the country...
